Sands China Expects Londoner Court To Be Open Before Golden Week
Sands China like all casino operators in Macau have suffered significant financial losses brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, Sands China had big plans for its Londoner Macao casino resort on the Cotai strip. Those plans had to be changed in light of the pandemic but things are slowly starting to fall in place.
Londoner Court To Open Before Golden Week
Sands China decided to proceed with a progressive stage rollout of the Londoner Macau. This British themed casino has a gaming floor that covers 365,000 square feet and convention space that spans 150,000 square feet. Sands China invested heavily into promoting The Londoner Macau prior to COVID-19 but has since slowed down as Macau has witnessed a drop in tourist traffic.
Things are expected to pick up again as we head into Golden Week. This will take place during the first week of October as China celebrates its National Day on October 1. Chinese tourists in general tend to flock over to the Macau peninsula which is just an hour away by ferry from Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
Sands China confirmed that its Londoner Court is in the final stages of completion and they were pushing to have it ready in time for Golden Week. Londoner Court is a luxury hotel suite that has over 350 rooms. The operator is currently carrying out a simulation exercise to prepare staff for Golden Week. No official date for the opening has been announced so far.
Sheraton Grand Macao To Also Re-Open
Things are expected to pick up for the Londoner Macao as we head towards the fourth quarter of 2021. The Sheraton Grand Macao which is located at the Londoner Macao was turned into a quarantine facility from August 05. The hotel allocated 2,000 rooms for individuals that needed to be quarantined. Throughout the pandemic, the Sheraton Grand Macao has acted on and off as a quarantine facility.
The Sheraton Grand Macao will officially cease being a quarantine facility from Sep 06 and will go through a disinfection process based on a statement made by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO). With the Sheraton Grand Macao opening up, there will now be a lot more space for the Londoner Macao to taken bookings and cater to their VIP clientele.
The Londoner Macau has multiple hotel towers which include the Sheraton Grand Macao, St Regis Macao, Conrad Macao, The Londoner Hotel and the Londoner Court. Londoner Macao also offers service style accommodation for high-rollers.
