GLI Announces Key Promotion: Zachary Kastelic Elevated to Vice President of Legal


Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), a prominent provider in the realm of land-based, lottery, and iGaming testing and assessment services, has recently bolstered its team with a significant promotion.

Following the earlier advancement of Andrea Bossard to the position of Vice President, Engineering in January, the company has announced another key promotion this past week, elevating Zachary Kastelic.

GLI Elevates Zachary Kastelic

In a recent news release, GLI disclosed that Zachary Kastelic, who had been serving as Associate General Counsel, has been promoted to Vice President of Legal.

In his new capacity, Kastelic will be responsible for overseeing GLI’s legal department. His duties will encompass:

  • Handling general corporate matters
  • Managing litigation
  • Conducting due diligence
  • Focusing on strategic initiatives such as contracts and communications

These responsibilities ensure that GLI adeptly navigates the intricate requirements and regulations across various global jurisdictions.

Kastelic’s journey with GLI commenced back in 2022. Initially, he was appointed as Assistant Corporate Counsel. Before his latest promotion, he had already been serving in a senior capacity as Associate General Counsel.

Before his tenure at GLI, Kastelic was employed by PlayUp Limited, where he held the vital role of Vice President of Compliance.

Kastelic Boasts Extensive Experience

Undeniably, the executive brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Kastelic possesses a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree from Ottawa University. Additionally, he has earned a Sports Wagering and Integrity Certificate from UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law.

The newly appointed Vice President of Legal at GLI is also a member of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, the Missouri Bar Association, and the Kansas Bar Association.

James Maida, GLI’s President and CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the recent promotion. He remarked, ‘Compliance is our primary responsibility to the global gaming industry, and our legal team, alongside our compliance teams, are at the forefront of our compliance efforts.’

Earlier this month, GLI announced that its 25th Regulators Roundtable is scheduled to take place at Palms Las Vegas on April 16, 2025.
