‘I was just like, ‘Am I seeing this correctly?’ And indeed, it was real,’ Moreland shared about the moment he realized he had secured a $200,000 win from the Emerald 8s scratch-off game.

He expressed that winning such a significant prize brought an overwhelming sense of joy. When asked about his choice to purchase an Emerald 8s ticket, Moreland mentioned that it simply ‘caught’ his attention. ‘It was my first time buying a green ticket,’ he recalled.

Not long after, the fortunate individual visited the Lottery headquarters to officially claim his substantial prize. Following the deduction of applicable state and federal taxes, Moreland’s bank balance saw an increase of $143,501.

Regarding his plans for the newfound wealth, the Lee County resident revealed his intention to invest the winnings and thoughtfully plan for his future retirement.
